Project Engineer / Program Manager

The Program Manager is a key leadership role within our client's organization. As the business moves to providing more end to end solutions for customers, the Program Manager will be tasked with overall project management responsibility for large, complex, multinational projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strategize and outline goals and objectives of the program

  • Form and manage a high-functioning project team, consisting project managers, process engineers and support group members to projects

  • Responsible for all phases of the program / project in accordance with established procedures

  • Provide cost reporting against budget, including project forecasting to finance group.

  • Establish and practice program controls/governance/standards

  • Monitor multiple sub-projects through the entire program cycle and manage the day-to-day detailed aspects of multiple projects

  • Establish and manage program timelines and milestones Coordinate and utilize resources for multiple projects in the program, globally if needed

  • Manage and submit program documentation and stakeholder presentations

  • Communicate with project managers, process engineers, and engineering support managers to address potential risks

Qualifications:

  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Exceptional executive presence and ability to present well in stakeholder/customer facing situations

  • Ability to demonstrate technical leadership to peers and other engineers on the team; coach and mentor other project managers within the team

  • 5+ years of industrial experience biotechnology and pharma in engineering project management

  • Practical application of pharmaceutical / biologics regulations.

  • Experience managing both internal and vendor resources

  • Travel upwards 25% - international and domestic

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, management, or related field

  • Graduate degrees in business or related field preferred

  • 5+ years previous experience in engineering program and/or project management within the life sciences industry with a focus on engineering disciplines feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, and validation

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of program/project management software Basecamp, MS Project

  • Knowledgeable in program management methodology and techniques; performance evaluation, risk management and change management principles
