Job Title: Laboratory & HSSE Coordinator

Pay: $21 – $22.60 depending on experience

Purpose and Summary

Responsible for driving key activities in the laboratory with focus on large scale lubricant blending and proactively calibrate all instrumentation required for Formulary development. The incumbent must also ensure that day to day laboratory operations are in compliance with our global laboratory safety standards. To proactively maintain and calibrate all instrumentation related to Formulary development. Additionally, the incumbent must proactively maintain the necessary inventory of supplies needed for formulation development.

Principle Responsibilities

  • The incumbent is accountable for complying with safety guidelines and ensuring that proper protocols and behaviors are consistently adhered to in the laboratory.

  • The incumbent is responsible for participating in Chemical Hygiene Committee, ensuring all laboratory practices and ways of working are implemented in a timely manner. Additionally, incumbent must communicate CHC policy to Product Development laboratory staff.

  • Incumbent must coordinate and drive all large scale blending in support of qualification programs.

  • Responsible for maintaining all laboratory equipment specific to formulary development, ensuring they are calibrated and run in accordance with respective industry method, thus generating accurate and precise results.

  • Lead in ensuring raw material and supply inventories required for formulary development and project delivery are maintained and replenished.

Qualifications and Capabilities


Associate degree level, or higher, in a scientific subject, Chemistry is preferred. Fluent English – written & oral mandatory; additional language skills (Spanish or Portuguese) an advantage.

  • Two or more year’s relevant experience is desirable. Experience in lubricants and/or interface with a manufacturing facility is highly desirable.

  • The incumbent must demonstrate full ownership of key accountabilities outlined and a commitment to provide accurate data in a timely manner to all shareholders.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Able to independently manage multiple tasks, develop priorities and ensure timely execution of projects is essential.

  • Self-starter, but also need to be team player, with good networking skills.
