CAE Analyst Position Available (Direct Hire) - Greater Detroit Area

Kelly Services is currently seeks a CAE Analyst/Engineer for one of their top manufacturing clients in the Greater Detroit area.

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for development, validation and optimization of applications for the Company’s products in the Automotive, Reinforcing, Acoustic, Bonding and Sealing markets.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop the Company’s internal capabilities for structural analysis of NVH, crash and durability related analytical performance predictions.

  • Specify and manage the acquisition/implementation of capital equipment, computers, and software required to support analytical performance prediction.

  • Characterize and document physical properties for all competitive structural reinforcing materials, and use this information to develop and validate material cards for the Company’s technologies.

  • Plan, implement, and perform hybrid test and analysis programs in support of application development for automotive customers. Perform, or assume responsibility for all aspects of data acquisition, modeling, analysis, and material characterization as required to complete program objectives.

  • Prepare presentations of test programs and results for review by customers and internal staff. Work closely with OEM analysis functions to ensure proper representation of the Company’s materials in modeling activities performed at the customer.

  • Provide Technical direction for on-going customer program activities where required.

  • Promote Technical presence in the automotive industry by authoring technical papers, and participating in technical conferences & committees.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience in the use of Linear/Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis, preferably LS_DYNA, RADIOSS and NASTRAN

  • Proficiency and in-depth technical understanding of Finite Element Analysis

  • Experience in analysis of test data on non-metallic materials for physical properties, material characterization and material card development.

  • Solid understand of dynamic system simulation techniques.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or an Advanced degree preferred.

  • Capacity for internal and external working relationships across different business groups

  • Organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic understanding of plastic injection molding and tooling and part design
