QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERVISOR - FOOD INDUSTRY - 1 YEAR CONTRACT

RESPONSIBILITIES

Health, Safety & Environment:

§ Understand, support, and comply with Company, Provincial and Federal Health and Safety legislation and regulations as applicable

§ Understand, support, and comply with Company, Provincial and Federal Environmental legislation and regulations as applicable

§ Report any Environmental, Health and Safety concerns to management

SQF Quality and Food Safety:

§ Understand, support and comply with all food safety and quality policies/procedures as per SQF Code Food Safety & Quality which includes but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Food Security, Kosher, Organic, Allergens, NHP, Hygiene, government regulations and customer requirements.

§ Attend SQF Code Food Safety & Quality, GMPs and Quality training as required

§ Responsible to report food safety problems and/or quality problems to Managers/Supervisors or person with authority to initiate actions.

Job Specific Duties:

§ Assists with leading the implementation of SQF Code Food Safety & Quality requirements.

§ Lead in trials and projects

§ Oversee all records related to the SQF Code Food Safety and Quality system, HACCP plan and Organic program.

§ Oversee Hold Log and Customer Complaint programs including root cause analysis, hold & GMP trend analysis and customer feedback.

§ Oversee customer sample programs.

§ Oversee Customer specification and website data bases

§ Oversee retain samples and packaging materials testing.

§ Lead internal GMP inspections and maintain the GMP inspection database..

§ Ensure food safety problems and/or quality problems follow QA protocol and are communicated cross-functionally for awareness and to initiate appropriate actions.

§ Oversee employee QA training

§ Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all quality-related activities compliant with company policies and standards, and applicable local laws and regulations.

§ Initiation of continuous improvement programs for product safety and product quality in an effort to reduce overall costs and improve the customer experience

§ Represent as the principle contact between Government and audit agencies regarding all quality matters

§ Review SPC data (if applicable) as a part of continuous improvement

Requirements:

§ Bachelor of Science in Science, Engineering, Food or a related field

§ Masters of Science highly desirable

§ Relevant professional certifications highly desirable

§ HACCP Training (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)

§ Internal auditing & SQF practitioner cretification training prefered

§ Knowledge of Health Safety & Environment, SQF Code Quality and Food Safety

§ SPC Training is ideal
