Kelly Services Operations Project Manager in Sunnyvale, California
OPERATIONS PROJECT MANAGER:
LOCATION: Sunnyvale, CA
DURATION: 1 Year
PAY RATE: $45-50/hr.
Our client is engaging in a new strategic relationship that is expected to expand its market share in key markets, to enable at least one new Converged Infrastructure product, and to enable new partner to sell some key products bundled with its own products.
This contract is for an Operations Project Manager who will have responsibility for working inside the company and with their new partner to implement:
· The sales of OSSG products on an OEM basis
· The sales of E-Series products on an OEM basis
· Direct purchases from supply chain of certain key commodities qualified
· Operations Program Management for the Converged Infrastructure joint development product
Leading a cross-functional operations team, the Operations Project Manager will ensure that products are adapted, documented and released for sale to and with their new partner, managing project schedules and resource requirements, overseeing work streams, and achieving results against milestones.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Leveraging his/her own experience and the experience of subject matter expects on the cross-functional project teams, the Operations Project Manager will be responsible for leading the team that delivers the following:
Strategize:
Participate in developing new operations strategies based on program requirements.
Identify gaps in existing processes
Advocate and implement operations strategies.
Plan:
Fully engage in Integrated Project Planning
Conduct operations planning
Conduct materials planning
Develop order management processes needed for the new partnership
Plan New Product Introduction activities
Source:
Oversee and drive RFP processes as applicable
Roll-up product costing, and drive cross-functional costing trade-offs
Develop scenarios to support the selection of a manufacturing methodology, partner and location for the CI product.
Identify/Communicate component level sourcing ownership
Direct procurement and ensure material availability for prototype, pilot, and production builds
Manage activities for ensuring supplier quality
Direct materials quality assurance and quality control
Make:
Ensure proper preparation of manufacturing site and system is done prior to Pilot by the Product Quality Engineers
Plan and ensure all needed fixtures and equipment are in place and validated to enable manufacturing and test
Plan for manufacturing process verification
Conduct a review of BOM and Manage BOM releases
Oversee manufacturing quality and reliability practices and communicate risks and issues to upper management
Lead manufacturing ramp
Deliver:
Set up end-to-end supply chain
Oversee the development of overall distribution and logistics
Report product performance through cost, quality, forecast attainment, and customer feedback data
Return:
Design and implement return authorization process as applicable to this partnership
Set up refurbishment and re-distribution as applicable to this partnership
REQUIREMENTS :
5-10 years in Operations Management, NPI Program Management, Technical Program Management, or Supply Chain Management with significant experience leading cross-functional NPI teams
Thorough knowledge of outsourced high-tech manufacturing
Experience working within partnerships or JV’s a plus
Scheduling and project management using Microsoft Project and other tools
Presentation skills with Microsoft PowerPoint
Spreadsheet creation and manipulation skills with Microsoft Excel
Master Requirements Planning systems experience
Document Control systems experience. Significant knowledge of BOM structures and their impacts.
Ability to contribute and lead in a project team environment, optimizing functional and project goals
Solid product costing and financial/ROI analysis skills
Planning, scheduling, and milestone-oriented
Strong negotiation skills and business acumen
Experience advocating for operations needs within engineering, product management and sales.
Ability to manage and drive through ambiguity, working cross-functionally to turn sometimes vague requirements into agreed actions.
