Kelly IT Resources is looking for a Sr Network Systems Engineer for our prestigious client located in Santa Rosa, CA that offers IT support services to their ever-growing client-base. Our client has a wide variety of clients so each day will bring a new and exciting challenge. Network design and server implementation are a regular part of their routine. They are continually bringing on new clients which requires solution evaluation to bring them up to modern standards and enable them to manage their networks in a solid and consistent manner.

Their company is a national network of locally-owned businesses that provide comprehensive computer-based services for managing information technology to businesses on and around the San Francisco Bay. They offer services to help businesses be more successful by managing their technology needs.

The Santa Rosa office has an opening for an experienced Sr Network Systems Engineer to support the network needs of small and medium size businesses. This position will be responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of our clients’ personal computer networks, including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and peripherals, either at the customer’s location or through a remote connection. In addition you will monitor and maintain network systems, and troubleshoot and make improvements to customer’s networks as necessary.

We are looking for Sr Network Systems Engineer candidates with strong technical skills to:

• Support Local Area Networks

• Implement and monitor network security

• Design, install and expand business-class server-based networks

• Optimize and maintain network software and hardware

• Perform network infrastructure troubleshooting

In addition, excellent customer service and communication skills are a must as you will be interacting with customers every day. You must have a clean driving record as you will drive either your own vehicle or a company vehicle on service calls.

At least two of the following certifications or equivalent experience are required for the IT Consultant/ Sr Network Systems Engineer Role:

• CompTIA A+ or MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician)

• CompTIA Network• CompTIA Security• Cisco CCNA or SonicWALL CSSA

• MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)

Candidates should have strong technical skills and at least four years’ experience (or equivalent education) in the following areas:

  • Network Design and Management

  • Architect and manage business-class networks including ability to configure VLANs

  • Configure and manage SonicWALL or Cisco firewalls

  • Configure remote access using VPN or RDS

  • Windows Servers

  • Configure and manage Windows server operating systems including Server 2012 R2

  • Configure and manage virtual machines using Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware

  • Implement and manage Active Directory and DNS services

  • Setup and troubleshoot VPN remote access

  • Setup, license and troubleshoot Terminal Server

  • Setup and manage network security and file/folder security

  • Manage certificates in Certificate Authority

  • Manage print servers

  • Exchange Servers

  • Install and manage Exchange (on client’s server or as Hosted Exchange/Office365)

  • Configure mail security, e.g. sender policy, recipient filtering, block lists

  • Backup/restore mailboxes and public folders

  • Install and configure Exchange clients, including VPN access.

  • Database and PST management

  • Outlook Web Access

  • Windows PCs

  • Install and manage Windows operating systems in both Workgroup and Domain environments

  • Set up new PCs and migrate applications/data from old PC to new PC

  • Working knowledge of common Windows applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe apps, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot and repair common hardware problems to the subassembly level (power supply failure, hard drive failure, video graphics card failure, etc.)

  • Apple Technologies & Windows Network Integration

  • Integrate mobile devices (smartphones, tablet computers) into Windows networks

Other Valuable Skills

  • Experience with Remote Monitoring and Mangement software (e.g. Kaseya)

  • Experience with physical installation of new facilities (including the ability to punch down Ethernet jacks, patch panels, etc.)

  • Experience with Mac-based networks
