Global Supplier Supply Manager (Capital Equipment-Automotive) Santa Clara, CA
As a Global Supply Manager working with Kelly Services, you are responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing supply materials, engineering services and
securing supply of high end automotive and lab grade capital equipment (Capital Equipment) for use in our Research and Development efforts. A successful GSM is someone that excels at balancing schedule and technical needs while achieving the best possible value for the company through the use of innovative sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities include working closely with all levels of client and supplier groups as well as internal Finance and Legal Departments resulting in strategic supplier relationships that achieve cost-effective procurement decisions for the company.
The GSM will also manage the overall business-to-business relationships between client and the supplier through day-to-day interactions and supplier business reviews, ensuring the best leverage of company dollars.
Will integrate basic elements of a statement of work (SOW) into the overarching terms of a contract as well as negotiating both long-term and short-term engagements.
Utilize RFI (Request for Information), RFP (Request for Proposal), and RFQ (Request for Quote) techniques to identify, select, and engage with suppliers to ensure competitive market advantage.
Direct and implement supplier-sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, on time delivery, and cost competitiveness with an eye towards total cost of ownership.
Take an innovative approach to business relationships and structure deals that yield the best value for the company.
Requires a BA/BS degree plus 5 years’ experience or (MA/MS/MBA/JD degree), or equivalent.
Solid Contract writing and negotiation experience in Automotive Technology commodities.
Experience with, global supplier development & management, and cost management
A basic understanding of business contract law. Ability to manage and close multiple contracts in parallel.
Previous experience with capital equipment is preferred or mechanical parts manufacturing processes is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work in multinational environments, driven and motivated by accomplishing world-class objectives
Must have exceptional ability to maintain and develop relationships within cross-functional teams within company as well as suppliers’ teams and management
