Kelly Services is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for one of our top clients in St. Peters, MO.

Projected Duration : 04/30/2018 to 10/29/2018

Type : Contract, Temp-to-Hire (possibility of extension or perm consideration based on performance and business needs )

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Conduct routine evaluation of existing commercial products, including performance and stability testing and claim support.

  • Conduct evaluation of first production samples for new product launches, including performance and stability testing.

  • Conduct performance and stability testing on cost improvement projects and new supplier approvals.

  • Provide support and/or lead industrial trials and validations on production equipment.

  • Maintain appropriate level of communications with select Marketing and Supply personnel to accomplish objectives.

  • Provide appropriate technical knowledge to work independently toward multiple project objectives within established timelines.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and execute laboratory work according to required safety and quality standards, as defined in the company's SOP's. Document all work in laboratory notebooks.

  • Participate in periodic quality audits.

  • Write reports documenting the various project activities.


  • BS degree in a related science (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or other related technical degree)

  • 1 year of work experience minimum

  • Experience with homecare products (formulation and evaluation) is highly desirable but not essential.

  • Formulation chemistry & aerosol experience is desirable.

  • Experience working with manufacturing sites is desirable.

  • Must be able to work independently on long term objectives without day-to-day input from manager Experience in running routine analytical and stability studies (CPG industry experience highly preferred) Some experience working in a team environment

  • Must be able to deliver a diverse range of objectives through effective prioritization

  • Exposure to both the laboratory and a production environment (pilot plant or factory)
