Technical Writer I

Responsibilities Include:

  • Producing high-quality, simple to follow, process documentation appropriate for a manufacturing audience.

  • Working with other Technical Writers and other teams including; Training, Engineering and Quality.

  • Familiarizing yourself with the TWI (Training Within Industry) process and how the documentation is a critical component of that process.

Job Brief:

Looking for a Technical Writer to produce high quality documentation that that will contribute to the success of project and products. You will be part of a team of tech writers who will work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, Training and other departments, as required, to create and modify Job Breakdown Sheets (JBSs). The purpose of Job Breakdown Sheets is to provide instructions and best practices for the most efficient and effective way of conducting a process. Further these JBSs will become the actual procedure, once implemented so it is critical that the writing be precise, clear and correct.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and edit existing JBSs (Job Breakdown Sheets) complying with the Change Order (CO) process when making changes to existing processes.

  • Create original JBSs (Job Breakdown Sheets) for existing processes.

  • Create original JBSs for new processes (ensuring that they will correspond with the correct parent procedure in the documentation management system).

  • Work closely with the Training Leader and TWI team to stay informed about any changes in deadlines, priorities, etc.
