Project Specialist (External Supply Integration)
LOCATION: Lakewood, NJ
DURATION: 9 Months
PAY RATE: $30-40/hr.
This position will function as the Person in the Plant for a 3rd party manufacturing site located in Lakewood, NJ. The primary responsibility of this person will be to ensure overall site readiness (from an operations, quality, and business perspective) for the launch of a new product at the site.
Influence and support on site decisions to ensure client requirements are met while maintaining a healthy supplier relationship with third party. Use vision to steer external partners to meet developing requirements.
Lead multi-discipline teams to execute activities required for site readiness while meeting company financial, speed to market and continuous supply goals.
Track and ensure that various activities required for the site are being executed in a timely manner including document drafting, reviews, approvals, etc.
Support investigations and root cause analysis to improve process robustness, efficiency and effectiveness.
Observe construction and manufacturing operations at the site and ensure that these activities comply with requirements and are executed in a timely manner.
Partner, collaborate, and support other Departments including ESI Quality, Device Center of Excellence, and Global Technical Services with ensuring new product project activities are being adequately supported by the third party manufacturer.
Identify and deliver cost improvement or cost avoidance projects that result in lower unit cost.
Support New Product launches and coordinate, manage PAI and other launch requirements at site.
Maintain primary points of contact for supply chain and stakeholders. Provide regular updates to management, as needed.
Manage changes with affiliates, and contract manufacturers. Establish and maintain a high level of competence while implementing innovative solutions to establish world class standards at contractor facility.
Partners with other areas of supply chain to support the development and implementation of a supply management change control process. Leads cross functional teams to develop strategies for execution of complex changes and assures successful implementation via project management leadership.
Responsible for the execution of global change control processes in conformance to current standards and procedures, using applicable system application tools (e.g., TrackWise, etc.). Promotes alignment between local and global processes. Ensures appropriate risk management strategies and continuity of supply prioritization.
Always maintain a sense of urgency to ensure continuity of product supply
BA/BS Degree (Engineering, technical degree, or business degree with suitable manufacturing experience), Master’s degree preferred
0-2 years of related experience in manufacturing management and / or support functions
Experience in the areas of general manufacturing (pharma, chemical, biologics, and other regulated products), supplier relationship management and business management are important for leveraging into the various situations that develop. Issues involving operations, regulatory compliance, quality, logistics, health, safety and environmental and/or finance frequently arise and must be recognized and resolved quickly.
Business Acumen: The broad knowledge of business functions including: manufacturing, regulatory, quality assurance, legal, finance, distribution, technical operations and/or other areas commensurate with the ability to influence decisions and to serve as an evaluator of the performance of a third party manufacturer.
Manufacturing Processes experience: A learning accumulated by direct and indirect interaction with different industries, manufacturing sites, equipment and technologies enabling an individual to enter any manufacturing environment and be comfortable discussing process equipment and technologies so as to represent our client’s best interests.
Knowledge of cGMP requirements in pharmaceutical and/or device areas
Project management skills
Basic financial management skills
Ability to focus on key strategic goals in chaotic situations
Manufacturing background in multiple companies or industries
Ability to partner with individuals and manage partnerships across companies
