Job Description

4 Positions Open:

2 -3rd shift, 1 - 2nd shift, 1 - 1st shift

MUST HAVE 2-5 YRS EXPERIENCE USING HAAS or MORI SEIKI CNC MACHINE OPERATING EXPERIENCE.

SUMMARY:

Operates various automated, semi-automated, and manual machining tools and equipment to manufacture parts in accordance with furnished engineering drawings/blueprints, specifications and workmanship standards.

Performs various basic machining operations using lathes, mills, cutters, presses, and related machining tools or equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews furnished documentation (route sheet, drawings, etc.) to identify job requirements and verify all prior operations have been properly completed.

Loads parts onto machine and performs setups of medium difficulty using edge finder, dial indicator, adjust tool offset, and set tool length offset.

Able to make jaws and fixtures and to edit programs.

Deburrs parts while machine is running.

Obtains first-piece approval prior to completing successive parts to ensure the set-up and operation of the machine or equipment is producing parts that meet applicable requirements. Continually monitors and is responsible for the quality of their work.

Investigates and attempts to resolve problems with set-up or machining equipment.

Seeks help from superiors when issues arise beyond their expertise or capabilities.

Maintains a clean work area and takes proper care of machines and tools.

Properly completes all production documentation (route sheet) and related paperwork.

Transacts the start- andstop- of labor in the production computer system.

Performs assigned preventive maintenance on machines and equipment as scheduled or directed.

Responsible for taking necessary precautions to ensure personal safety.

Participates within the machine shop team, creating a positive work environment, and demonstrates a willingness to learn and work.

Individual is expected to continually contribute innovative ideas for improving department processes in order to increase the quality and efficiency of their job.

Identifies and reports negative or positive risks associated with responsible processes, products, procedures, people, infrastructure or environment.

PERSONAL MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE (PMP) CRITERIA:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read and understand complicated engineering drawings/blueprints and specifications.

Must be knowledgeable of CNC machining and program editing.

Must have a solid command of mathematics.

Must possess good working knowledge of machine shop processes and metal requirements.

Must know how to properly use various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, protractors, and radius gages.

Ability to work well under pressure in order to meet deadlines.

Attention to detail and accuracy a must.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent experience or trade school certification is required.

Minimum of two years practical experience working in a machine shop required.

Must be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of machine operation and processes relating to machining.
