Senior Air Quality Analyst/Environmental Engineer, Petaluma, CA
Perform scientific studies using advanced emissions, meteorological, and air quality models to address complex environmental problems and meet the research, regulatory, and litigation support needs of our clients.
Develop and execute project implementation plans for complex emissions, air quality, climate change, and transportation research projects.
Support business development activities and modeling business areas.
Prepare technical reports, communicate results to clients, and present project results to a broad audience.
Required Qualifications and Skills
M.S.degree or higher in engineering or a physical science.
Minimum of five years of experience performing project management, business development, and technical analysis in emissions and air quality modeling.
Experience in emissions modeling (e.g., for mobile sources and point sources) and emissions inventory development to support regional and project-level air quality assessments.
Ability to apply engineering knowledge to quantify emissions, assess air quality impacts, and evaluate pollution control technologies.
Excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Aptitude for working independently and within a team.
Desire to learn through on-the-job training and external course work.
Strong interest in air quality and environmental science.
Experience in multiple disciplines, such as engineering, meteorology, and chemistry.
Familiarity with community air quality and environmental justice issues, and state and federal air quality regulations.
Familiarity with climate change and greenhouse gas analysis.
Experience with high-level programming languages (e.g., Fortran, C, Java), Linuxshell scripting, Python, and data analysis software.
