Laboratory Technician - Materials R&D, Pasadena, CA
Job Purpose: The Materials R&D Lab Technician performs various technical tasks related to the development of new materials based on company technology under the direction and supervision of more senior level employees.
Pay Range: $17-$24/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs lab scale preparation of monomers, polymers, or additives
Prepares resin formulations for internal use and customer sampling
Conduct tests and compile results / data for the development of new or improved resin formulations
Maintain careful records and other documents to support the needs of the business
Perform other laboratory tasks that may be required to support the efficient development of new polymeric materials including thermoset resins, reactive adhesives, and composites resins
Directly support clean-up and organizational activities for the laboratory with coworkers including waste management and sample storage
Complies with safety procedures and practices
Minimum Associate Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
One (1) - two (2) years of industrial experience as a lab technician or chemist.
Experience in practical chemical or polymer synthesis.
Willingness to learn about new laboratory techniques, lab equipment, and instrumentation for the development of new products.
Some lifting, stooping, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, and additional activities may be assigned to meet the business needs.
