Sr. Business Analyst – Controls/MEC
Responsible for providing technical direction and support to client's manufacturing operations deploying MES solutions. Will facilitate the standardization of processes related to Manufacturing Execution Systems, including the development of standards used for equipment specification and procurement, and the sharing of best practices within the company globally. This position works closely with North America manufacturing operations to develop shop floor control standards to allow standardized data collection and reporting.
Works closely with company’s manufacturing facilities and IT to develop standards for MES, SCADA, and HMI systems
Prepare detailed requirements definition documents, use-cases, test scripts, user training documentation, identifies security requirements, and train trainers.
Leads the research and implementation of new or improved shop floor control systems.
Initiates projects and tasks through creative insight, leveraging manufacturing and product knowledge
Confirms feasibility/capability of proposed product/process improvements using statistical methods
For assigned technologies, will act as communicative link between CS technical and manufacturing sites, including other global regions, for the purpose of process development, best practice exchange, standardization, etc.
Keeps current on developments related to manufacturing and product technology through meetings with suppliers, customers, trade publications, etc.
May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED (Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred).
Typically has five plus years of experience
Ability to solve problems and take a new perspective using existing solutions
Ability to work independently and act as a resource for colleagues
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts
Proficient in SCADA, HMI Systems (Ignition Preferred)
Knowledge in PLC Controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, ProFace)
Demonstrated proactive task approach
Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary (est 50%)
Looking for a PLC person with engineering or IT background; will report to IT Mgr. and IT Director
Knowledge in PLC Controls (Allen Bradley, Siemens, ProFace) – any 1 of these 3 will work
Collect data either on-site or remotely
Travel is between MI – IN – KY (mainly day trips) plus 1x a year to Mexico; because of travel, person can be in either MI – IN – K
