Our client is recruiting for a Program Manager for the Medical Device Epidemiology and Real-World Data Analytics (MD Epidemiology) is to be located in New Brunswick, NJ. This position reports to the Vice President, MD Epidemiology. The MD Epidemiology group is part of the Epidemiology Department that supports medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biologics, and consumer products and reports into the Office of Chief Medical Officer.
The Medical Device (MD) Epidemiology organization conducts observational research to support product development, product launch, post-market safety and effectiveness, value assessments, and business development of MD products. The team fosters methodological excellence across medical device sector. The team provides analytical capabilities using large patient-level claims and electronic health record databases, spontaneous complaints and adverse event report databases and data from medical devices during procedures to answer a variety of questions related to safety, product development, label extensions, health economics and outcomes research, and other activities. The studies conducted by the MD Epidemiology group focus on safety, product development, health economic, market access, and label change topics. Safety topics include safety surveillance, evaluation of safety signals, device use patterns, predictive analytics of adverse outcomes from procedures, changes in label warnings and indications for use, benefit-risk assessment, and disease burden/progression/risk factors. Health economic and market access related topics include cost of disease and procedures, reimbursement patterns, market size, clinical standard of care, and comparative effectiveness research.
This individual will provide project management support to the MD Epidemiology group. He/she will interact routinely with senior management and a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
The Program Manager will manage strategic operational and project management activities that are integral to the strategic objectives and workings of MD Epidemiology. Under the direction of the Vice President for the group, this individual will be responsible to support activities that will drive process, content and business impact for all the projects and activities conducted by team. Activities might include, but are not limited to:
•Lead the development and management of pragmatic and executable project trackers to facilitate tracking of metrics, timelines and milestones related to the project activities of the broader team.
•Ensure the team is delivering work output consistent with the goals and objectives for the year.
•Be the primary point for the MD Epidemiology team members on all activities related to agreements/contracting
•Maintain the MD Epidemiology Team Goals and Objectives and Strategic Plan in an up-to-date status
•Develop and update the MD Epidemiology publications plan
•Identify project issues and risks and assist with development of contingency and risk mitigation strategies and plans.
•Serve in a strategic communications role by supporting the group and project teams with development of communications tools.
•Create and maintain working platforms for team activities such as BOX and SharePoint to facilitate content sharing, formatting and refinement of presentation materials, upkeep of landscape/competitive assessments, and archiving of key messages/communications.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of standardized process flows and documents for the research and analytical work within the group
•Provide management and administrative support to cross sector working groups. Working with stakeholders, the person will be required to set up planning meetings and follow up with team members to ensure timely completion of deliverables and follow up on action items.
This individual will work independently to oversee multiple projects simultaneously with input from the Medical Safety Program Manager, as needed.
•A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. A Project Management Institute (PMI) certification would be an asset in this role (e.g. PMP, CAPM).
•Candidates should have minimum of 5 years of project management experience with a clear track record of success. Experience related to management of research projects in pharmaceutical or medical device sectors is preferred.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook is required. Experience with platforms such as BOX and SharePoint is preferred.
•This position will require exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
•This position will require strong interpersonal and organization skills with the ability to work well across multiple functional areas and across all levels of the business.
