The incumbent has direct contact with all areas within the Plant regarding payroll and reporting, individual personnel-related matters and administrative support for the Human Resource Department. Direct responsibilities include administering the payroll function for the facility and satellites, maintaining HRIS and providing reports as needed, facilitating the attendance program, processing EEO reports, preparing the Affirmative Action Plan, supporting the summer hire program, co-chairing the facility’s United Way campaign, maintaining training records, coordinating quarterly Team Days and capturing notes in Management – Union Leadership meetings. The incumbent maintains effective working relationships with staff members and coordinates work assignments with various people to ensure achievement of business objectives and goals. Work handled is confidential, and high priority assignments are the routine. Responsibilities encompass a wide scope and complexity; potential problems must be anticipated and corrective action taken. The incumbent works independently with some direct supervision on matters of an exceptional or unusual nature.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High school education with advanced level training, preferably supplemented by some technical school or college course work. Five to eight years of office experience including a high level of administrative skills and several years experience supporting management are typically required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The work requires knowledge of corporation practices and procedures, as well as an in-depth knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures, and the ability to exercise independent judgment to ensure they are applied equitably and consistently. Discretionary handling of confidential information is a primary requisite. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary, including positive attitude and willingness to provide service to other employees. Knowledge of computer systems (e.g., SAP, CATs) and software; Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (working knowledge of pivot tables) and PowerPoint) is required. Key skills are integrity, initiative, organization, thoroughness, and organizational sensitivity.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Payroll

o Responsible for processing payroll.

o Administer and ensure accuracy, efficient, and timeliness of all payroll activities. Performs weekly audits of payroll data.

o Proactively communication and interaction with TLP to resolve issues affecting the payroll function.

o Tracks and resolves payroll errors. Completes payroll adjustments and correction as necessary.

o Trains union hourly employees on timekeeping system (CATs) and provide ongoing support to users.

o Completing and distributing reports as needed by managers to ensure employees are coding time correctly.

HRIS

oAct as HRIS administrator, ensuring data integrity.

oOversee system, maintains and updates employee records (new hires, terminations, status changes, hourly wage changes).

oCompletes weekly, monthly and year end reports timely and accurately.

oCompletes miscellaneous HR inquiries, research, audits and reports as requested.

oPrepares reports by creating, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Recruiting

oProvide administrative support for on-site interviewing with candidates and interviewers.

Communicates with candidates, on-site interview team, hiring manager and third party vendors.

oConduct administrative portion of new-hire orientation (uniforms, badges, etc.).

Administrative

o Serves as a contact for employees for time and attendance, and payroll related matters.

o Administers and monitors FMLA and disability LOA process. Coordinating efforts with the Plant OHN.

o Lead plant efforts in coordinating and preparing Affirmative Action Plan and associated compliance reporting, EEO, VET 101, etc.
