Kelly Services Production Line Worker in Moncton, Canada

We have a Great opportunity for a Summer Student! Kelly is currently recruiting for a Production Line Worker to work at one of our client’s sites. This position offers 44 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, (12 hr shifts Monday, Tuesday & Wed., and 8 hours on Thursday). You always get a long weekend. It also offers competitive wages and steady work Starting immediately – Aug. 31.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Production Line/Downstream Operator

REPORTS TO: Production / QA Manager

LOCATION: Moncton

Basic Functions:

  • Ensure “Safety” of the employees.

  • The Downstream Operator must safely operate the various packaging equipment.

  • The Downstream Operator must ensure that both the quality and productivity meet the clients standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the downstream equipment is in good and safe working condition and maintained clean at all times.

  • Monitors required operating supplies requesting replenishment only as needed including pallets, tier sheets, top frames, stretch wrap and strapping.

  • Required to palletize, strap and stretch wrap finished goods using hand tools and automatic equipment available.

  • Required to understand the nature of all visible defects and to detect and sort defective bottles into appropriately marked gaylords.

  • Perform visual inspections and report hand tool and machine defect to the supervisor.

  • Complete all required downstream paperwork (rework, bulk downtime, visual inspection, non-conforming sheets, etc.) and hand in at end of shift.

  • Maintain a high degree of housekeeping at all times. Start all large cleaning jobs early in your shift to ensure their completion. Show consideration of the recycling procedure.

  • Must sort returned pallets, tier sheets and top frames. Must record and report all scrap to the Supervisor.

  • Required to bail stretch wrap waste and put away at end of shift and sweep all floor areas in blowmolding downstream. Must also chop strapping.

Health and Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Follow all company safety policies and work instructions.

  • Advise all employees of any potential or actual dangers, how to isolate, prevent, or remove them.

  • Correct physical condition, which are liable to cause or have caused accidents.

  • Provide a good example for employees by always directing and performing work in a safe manner and by following the rules and policies of Amcor.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and assign definite responsibilities for housekeeping.

Quality Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Downstream Operator has the authority to place product on hold and shut down downstream equipment.

Food Safety Responsibilities And Accountabilities:

  • Downstream Operator is responsible for following the GMP and HACCP guidelines.

  • Responsible for reporting any violation on GMP and HACCP.

Education, Experience and skills Required:

  • High School Diploma.

  • Good communication skills in order to work effectively and in harmony with all other departments and personnel.

  • Must thrive to maintain and/or increase standards, quality and productivity.

  • Be aware of all Company Policies, Safety Rules and Regulations and comply with them.

  • Must possess and demonstrate all the necessary skills associated with the position.

** This position requires 40 hours of training
