Job Description:

Summary Work within the shop environment completing daily tasks such as the following duties that will include performing new vehicle PDI’s, routine maintenance, basic vehicle cleaning and vehicle inspections.


  • PDI: Pre-Delivery Inspections must be completed on each new vehicle before delivery, which entails checking all fluids, installing accessories (antenna, floor mats), checking exterior/body, interior operating systems, engine compartment and a road test. Each new vehicle comes with a detailed PDI check list that must be completed, signed off and returned to Administration.

  • Service: Complete routine maintenance on vehicles which includes oil change, tire rotation, inspection of air filters, tire pressure and all fluids. Reviewing the work order for any additional comments left by the customer in regards to issues they may be experiencing and determine the cause and solution. Complete paperwork and notify shop administration when all services for the day are complete.

  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct inspections of lease turn-in and pool vehicles prior to them going to auction.

  • Receiving New Vehicles: When trucks (or Dealer deliveries) containing new vehicles arrive, technician will meet them outside, strip protective PGF off vehicles to inspect for any damage, sign off on shipper condition of vehicles, turn-in list of received vehicles so they can be entered into the system and park the vehicles in appropriate location

  • Vehicle Cleaning: After PDI is complete, new vehicles must have the exterior cleaned for delivery. Cleaning consists of ensuring all glue and debris is removed and cleaned from body, wheels, rims and windows. May also include installation of the license plate and staging of the vehicle for customer pickup.

  • Other Tasks: Technicians may also be asked to complete various tasks throughout the shop dependent on current volume and staff, including assisting with moving vehicles from one lot to another, washing vehicles and prepare for deliveries, charging vehicle batteries, and other shop related tasks that may arise.


  • Education and/or certifications related to the role are an asset

  • 1-3 years experience in a Service Department is an asset

  • Open to applicants currently in the process of doing an apprenticeship in a dealership

  • Automotive Service Technician experience is a requirement

  • Experience in PDI’s, Lube and Detailing

  • Previous experience at a Nissan Dealership in a Technician role is a definite asset
