Planner/Scheduler - The purpose of this role is to coordinate the movement of raw materials, packaging supplies and finished goods through the manufacturing and logistics processes to the marketplace to meet customer demands in a timely manner at minimum costs. This role handles the movement of materials. The coordination of materials will have a direct impact on the production assets, but this role is not responsible for setting the MPS. Primary Responsibilities: Physical product deployment from manufacturing location to destination locations warehouse, out plants, terminals, packaging locations by following established replenishment push/pull planning processes. Ensure a reliable supply of inbound raw materials to meet the production schedule. Process requisitions in SAP into purchase commitments to suppliers, external manufacturing partners, packaging companies and internal plants and verify PO receipt with supplier. Communicate schedule to receiving plant. Build relationships with key stakeholders at source and destination locations. Ability to read and execute against contractual obligations and terms governing the various agreements. Proactively assess and analyze exceptions i.e. product requirements including less than standard lead time, stock-out situations, short order lead time, late deliveries, etc so that any issues can be identified immediately. Create plans for resolution and take the appropriate mitigation actions to overcome the exception. Communicate critical issues to other impacted stakeholders detailed production scheduler, site logistics, logistics transportation, etc Continuously identify and address distribution issues inbound to the storage location and outbound to the end user to prevent supply disruptions to customers. Proactively monitor and report demand plan versus forecast, consumption versus plan and inventory performance versus targets. Works with suppliers, internal partners and customer service regarding exceptions supply/demand imbalances which prevent order fulfillment, logistics constraints/delays, etc . Responsible for inventory record accuracy at 3rd party managed locations. Provide the data and feedback for the management of supplier and transportation performance. Identify and implement improvement opportunities. Maintain planning tables and MRP settings within SAP and other planning software. Lead and/or participate on teams customer success teams, new product introduction teams, etc. to assist and facilitate the improvement of our processes, increase our efficiencies and decrease our expenses. Critical Success Factors: Uses specific supply chain concepts, work processes, methodologies and tools to complete work. Capability to translate this knowledge into day to day activities to balance service levels, inventory and cost to meet the business plan. Strong analytical thinking required and an understanding of complex value chains. Analyzes options, identifies and reviews risk factors and mitigation scenarios. Takes independent action to resolve problems. There are multiple problems every day that will need immediate attention. Negotiating is a key skill to translate the needs to external suppliers that may have competing and complex needs. Full understanding of normal customer demand patterns. Full understanding of site logistics capability, capacity and constraints. Must have strong initiative, communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and teamwork. Education/Certification/ Experience Requirements: Associates degree or 8 years relevant exp.
