Production Supervisor- Permanent Position- Maywood NJ 07607
Must have previous experience in:
Production/Manufacturing/Food/Industrial facility, safety, quality and supervisory experience.
Preferred: Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Safety & Environmental:
Create and promote an environment that achieves incident free performance
Promote and perform documented housekeeping inspections, near miss reporting with corrective actions and follow up
Ensure accurate completing of all inspection reports (incident reports, forklifts, eye wash/safety showers, fire extinguishers, hot work permits, confined space entry etc.)
Achieve plant waste reduction goals
Operate the plant in an environmentally responsible manner
Schedule reports and self to attend to all safety and environmental training courses
Coordinate waste shipments. Prepare monthly waste report
Produce all products “right the first time”
Promptly report non-conforming materials with corrective actions and follow up to prevent future occurrences.
Promote Quality Process (SQE, QAS, FSSC, SPC etc.) Promote ISO 9001/2000 process
Enter information to SAP, Kronos and CMMS on a daily basis
Work with outside contractors
Issue daily production notes
Shift Assignments- schedule regular or overtime coverage for production and logistics
Coordinate shipment of lubricants and receiving all bulk raw materials
Coordinate production activities with maintenance and R/D.
Work closely with the corporate office on scheduling production and incoming bulk raw materials.
Controllable expenses are +/-2% of budget.
Do not sacrifice safety, environmental or operation performance to meet with budget demands, but do not use those as an excuse for not controlling expenses.
Talk/educate employee about plant expenses
Achieve cash and opportunity savings’ goals
Investigate overhead variances, make weekly and monthly corrections
Communicate goals, objectives and expectations
Hold employees accountable for action and/or in-actions.
Be consistent with praise and criticism. Listen to understand.
Promote change for the better (empowerment, housekeeping, safety, work practices)
Be a leader and remover of barriers
Meet with new trainees and trainers daily
