Job Description


The IT Support Analyst provides a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization-s computing environment. The roles of this position include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all computer and computer-related hardware and software to ensure optimal performance. This position troubleshoots network performance issues, provides administrative software support and participates in network systems implementation projects in accordance with the mission, core values, and purposes of the company.

  4. PC and Server hardware maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting

  5. Remote Desktop support

  6. Office 365

  7. Active Directory

  8. Patch management

  9. Advanced printer / peripheral device troubleshooting

  10. Network switches, firewalls, and routers

  11. TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP

  12. Remote support for handheld smartphones and tablets

  13. Mobile Computer/scanner (Windows Mobile) setup and troubleshooting

Training, Certifications, and Experience

The qualified IT Support Analyst should have:

  1. Associate in Applied Science or equivalent or a Bachelor-s Degree in a computer-related degree program.

  2. Four years of experience in an IT-related field, specifically where hardware and software troubleshooting was a core element of the job.

  3. A+, Network+, MCP or equivalent certification or training for any of these and a desire and willingness to achieve the certification within three months of hire.

Essential Functions

The IT Support Analyst performs the following essential functions:

  1. Installs and configures workstations, servers, tablets, mobile and desk phones, scanners, peripherals, and all other related equipment.

  2. Functions as first line of technical support for end-users.

  3. Provides administrative software support to Banker Steel employees in all locations.

  4. Troubleshoots software, operating systems, and hardware problems.

  5. Performs periodic maintenance on hardware.

  6. Repairs and upgrades hardware.

  7. Creates/updates/maintains documentation of network and servers.

  8. Backs up and restores data, monitors scheduled backups.

  9. Serves as a -backup- for other team members, seeks cross-training in their areas of expertise, and performs their duties in their absence.

  10. Reviews/monitors server event logs daily and responds appropriately to presented situations.

  11. Maintains inventory of computers, printers, scanners, and all other related equipment.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
