Kelly Services is hiring a Part-time Marketing/Business Development Intern for a global company in Houston, TX.
Title: MARKETING / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERN
Summary of Position
The Marketing / Business Development Intern will be responsible for evaluating the overall potential value of new technologies and projects. The primary output of this work will be a comprehensive business case for a new medical device product opportunity.
This position will work directly with the Sr. Director as well as other technical and senior staff members. The internship will be part-time for a period of 3-6 months, and based in Houston.
Perform primary and secondary market research of a potential new medical device with key stakeholders in the healthcare system.
Define the overall value proposition, including potential clinical applications / use cases and impact / benefits to patients, clinicians, and others.
Research the competitive landscape and identify potential threats, as well as advantages and opportunities for differentiation.
Evaluate the overall market potential, including size, growth, trends, and appropriate patient segmentation* Understand the pathway to commercialization, including clinical trials, regulatory approval and manufacturing.
Estimate financial viability, include scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and overall economic justification (including payment / reimbursement).
Assess the overall risks involved in the project, and apply appropriate risk-discounting to financial estimates.
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelors or graduate degree, preferably a MBA.
Candidates must be available to work part-time 10-20 hours / week.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future.
Candidates must have the ability to work independently as well as on a team, and demonstrated leadership is preferred.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Candidates must also be able to work well within a high degree of ambiguity or uncertainty, and be flexible to adapt to changing conditions.
Candidates need to have strong written and or verbal communication skills.
Pay rate: $30/hr.
