Job Description

The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing HR services/support including recruitment and selection, performance management support, assistance in mediating employee issues, policy/guideline interpretation, facilitating new employee orientation, attendance tracking, and other duties as assigned.

This role also provides training and investigates informal and formal complaints, maintains employee records and ensures accuracy and data privacy/security processes are in place. The incumbent will provide employees and managers with centralized human resource support for first tier questions and inquires spanning across benefits programs and human resources policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Function as an integral member of the plant leadership team

Answer employee and management questions regarding policies, processes and other HR related matters following prescribed responses

Implement and maintain departmental procedures, EEO/AA logs and reports and personnel records

Will recruit and screen for plant positions

Perform orientations, enrollments, audits, and other administrative HR duties

Maintain records relating to employee benefits; enroll employees into programs; process new hire and benefit paperwork

Provide general administrative support of daily departmental operations as assigned and training programs or sessions

May participate in confidential investigations of complex employee relations issues

Process and track information in support of policies and benefits such as Leave of Absences, FMLA, Worker Compensation and other leave issues

Oversee the maintenance of HR files and records in compliance with retention requirement

Manage employee retention initiatives

Manage and execute special projects varying in complexity

Assist with management of facility attendance program

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or other equivalent

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resource experience

Knowledge and personal attributes:

The ability to fluently read, write and speak in both English and Spanish is required

Must be able to maintain a high-level of confidentiality; maintain accurate and complete records

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and assess priorities required

Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong proofreading skills and presentation skills

Outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills.

Computer/technology skills:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook

Must be able to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas and organizational charts using Visio
