Desktop Analyst, Houston, TX

Kelly Services is seeking a Desktop Analyst with one Industry Certification such as A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, or MCDST for one of our top clients in Houston, TX.

Length: 3 Months (Contract W2)

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr. (W2- All Inclusive)

Primary Focus:

This position is responsible for providing Desktop Services and maintains end user productivity. This intermediate level position is part of Desktop Support and will provide support to all customers; this position has specific responsibility to the GPP Region and will work primarily out of the Westheimer office. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding desktop support, inventory management, customer service and troubleshooting.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Monitor and ensure timely escalation of customer issues to internal organizations or vendors. Collaborate with other IT departments on assigned projects and issues.

  • Manage the ServiceNow ticket queue, assign tickets as required.

  • Manage Projects, or lead projects in our area of accountability.

  • A Desktop Services Analyst II will have demonstrated the ability to train and mentor Desktop Services Analyst I’s.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, document and find solutions for major incident issues.

  • Receive, log, respond to and solve customer requests and ensure completion of proper documentation.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers in all situations.

  • Prioritize and resolve technical support issues remotely, via telephone, and in person as assigned.

  • Responsible for delivering desktop support services to internal and external customers.

  • Analyze, document, and escalate critical issues to appropriate support groups internally or externally.

  • Self-maintain an acceptable level of technical knowledge on our company’s applications and services.

  • Self-maintain technical expertise and knowledge regarding upgrades, new hardware and software brought into the company.

  • Support for mobility devices, to include, but not limited to devices running iOS, Android and Windows operating systems on devices including, but not limited to, Cell phones and Tablets.

  • Support for meetings, conferences, and the Audio Visual, Telecom, connectivity devices and equipment required to hold these events. Including but not limited to: Telecommunications, Telepresence, Speaker-Phones/ Conference Phones, Cameras, Projectors, Speakers, Microphones, etc.

  • Diagnose and repair hardware issues on, but not limited to, laptops, notebooks, desktops and printers. Set up, configure and test equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, install upgrades and options.

  • Install Operating System and configure PC’s according to company standards for deployment

  • Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computer equipment, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines

  • Assist in training events, conferences, drills and live incident responses.

  • Proactively review calls through our ServiceNow support system.

  • Responsibilities for this position will include: order, maintain inventory, deploy, move, repair, collect, and recycle technology equipment.

  • Assist in the maintenance of hardware and software inventories, using standard asset management system.

  • Provide cross team support for all job responsibilities.

  • Assist with the purchase of client equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Related University degree and limited previous experience or a 2 year technical diploma. Incumbents typically possess 2+ years of direct related experience.

  • Must hold a minimum of one Industry Certification such as A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, and MCDST.

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, take initiative and maintain a high degree of professional conduct at all times.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a friendly, professional relationship with clients.

  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

  • Excellent knowledge of current Windows Operating Systems.

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft exchange email clients and email systems.

  • Experience with, Active Directory, McAfee AV and encryption is required.

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Lotus Notes, Citrix, AutoCAD, GIS Systems, VB Scripting, MacroExpress Plus, Excel Macros and formulas, and Oracle desired.

  • Experience with mobility equipment to include. iOS, Windows and Android Operating systems, as well as cellular phones, tablets and other mobile devices.

  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues remotely, via phone and in-person

  • Ability to troubleshoot network (TCPIP) and telephony connectivity.

  • Able to troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Knowledge of automated software deployment methods, especially SCCM would be an asset.

  • Excellent PC Hardware knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to work after hours and participate in on call rotation when required.

  • Valid driver’s license is required, as well as the ability to rent vehicles, travel, work evenings and weekends and MUST have a good driving record.

  • The ability to frequently and repetitively lift/carry/move weights up to 50 pounds from the floor.

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel as well as crawl within small quarters.
