Contract Training Coordinator needed in Houston, TX

The organization is moving users from an existing incident reporting and investigation software tool to a new software tool and end user change support and training is required. This position’s focus will be to gain a thorough understanding of the new system, assist in the development of training and reference materials and then deliver reoccurring training to end users leading up to and post launch.

Length of Contract: 6 months (through end of year)

Pay: $25/hr-$30/hr

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work with the technical program team and experienced business users to create and/or review training presentations and end user reference materials (e.g. quick reference guides, job aids, micro-training videos).

  • Aid in organizing and facilitating awareness sessions for a range of users (those experienced in the old system and those new to any system).

  • Deliver and/or present multi-hour training sessions comprised of instructor delivered content and hands on “in system” case studies for varied user roles. Multi-attendee sessions will likely be both in-person at various Enbridge sites as well as conducted online with remote attendees.

  • Deliver training to additional trainers and coordinate and monitor the execution of a training plan to additional users.

  • Evaluate training effectiveness and collect attendee feedback

  • Provide post-launch end user support and additional training/coaching as required

  • Collect and evaluate user response and feedback to the system; identify pain points, opportunities for improvement, requested enhancements.

  • Monitor user adoption and activity within the system; verify the initial quality of data captured (completeness, consistency, etc.) and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to end users and the system owners.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • 3-5 or more years’ experience working with technology/applications and in a training and user support function (e.g. application training, business analyst)

  • Strong public speaking and group/meeting facilitation skills; both in person and via online sessions

  • Strong aptitude and positive attitude for exploring and learning new applications, understanding how and why they work from an end users perspective.

  • Communications are both written and verbal (e.g. presentations) and involves the relay of detailed steps and instructions to all levels of staff and management with many audiences being non-technical in nature.

  • Skills and experience with creating user friendly resource materials, instructional guides and engaging and effective slide presentations.

  • Strong skills in MS Office products, including PowerPoint for the creation of user materials and training resources.

  • Take responsibility for varied assignments and works independently; effectively managing time, approaches to problems, and multiple work priorities.

  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in resolving problems, identifying opportunities and anticipating the needs and concerns of stakeholders.

  • Able to provide guidance and/or coordination to other members of the team.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and experience in occupational safety and pipeline/oilfield operations and construction.

  • Knowledge and experience with Incident Investigation applications, methodologies, processes, etc.

  • Skills with creating short application training videos (e.g. on screen walk-throughs)
