Managing activities and company functions by performing the assigned duties personally or through your staff. Additional duties may be assigned. Work will be accomplished in adherence to all policies set forth by the company. This position accepts the responsibility for the overall performance of the assigned departments per organizational chart.


  • Overall coordination of and performance to Divisional/Departmental Business plan objectives (refer to these as KPI’s via Divisional Model Cell.)

  • Analyze Date to ensure compliance and provide strategy to achieve business plan objectives

  • Utilize TPS Philosophies and Principles to achieve business objectives (Kaizen Activities)

  • Compliance to existing quality systems (i.e. TS and ISO)

  • Enhance Customer Satisfaction expectations

  • Develop sources and competitive suppliers (domestic and overseas) that provide quality, delivery and value. Locate and source Benchmark suppliers who understand and accept the customer expectation of:

  • Market pricing

  • Targeted PPM

  • Quality systems to address problems and develop countermeasures through root cause analysis

  • 100% on time delivery performance

  • Strategic Planning for Annual price review (APR) and price down through continuous improvement activities and willingness to provide Cost Detail in their quotes/pricing

  • Establishing cost standards with suppliers

  • Analyzing the market by commodity to know the ‘should be’ cost

  • Work with our parent company and other global partners to understand global market and maximize purchasing leverage with global purchases

  • Ability to make an independent judgement and make recommendations and communicate to the team. This should include any system improvements, from root cause analysis to implementation of countermeasures.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall supervision, direction, coordination, coaching, and staff development of assigned group per the organizational chart. Accomplish as outlined in Supervisory Manual and within organizations policies and applicable laws.

  • Coach and develop team members in career development by analysis of skills and job knowledge.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing team member on 5’s principles and enforcing safety rules and regulations.

  • Manages group activities through documenting, recording, and analysis team member training plans, quality of work, and efficiency. Appraises performance through positive reinforcement and/or coaching and partners up with her HR for problem resolution.

  • Authority to provide suggestions and recommendations about hiring, disciplinary action, and promotions through documentation of team member performance.


  • Bachelors degree from a four year college or university and 2-4 years related experience and training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience required

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Competency in the use of Information Systems Tools to create and maintain business objectives.

  • Toyota Production Systems or related system preferred.

  • TS16949 and ISO14001 experience or related experience preferred

  • Experience with global sourcing and purchasing

  • Knowledge of inventory practices, TS, continuous improvement procedures, supplier evaluations, transportation and logistics
