Quality Specialist (Concrete) - Garden Grove, CA

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist to work with one of our top clients in Garden Grove, CA.

Summary: The Quality Specialist will assist in achieving Quality Control departmental goals and efficiencies while monitoring, recording and assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved

Shift/Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Draft reports for all internal projects and testing evaluations.

  • Assist the product development and quality control teams with field testing, as needed.

  • Proficient operator and user for testing equipment, which includes the analytical equipment such as the following:

  • FTIR

  • XRD

  • Author and/or implement the following documents: mill certificates, certificates of compliance, certificate of analysis, internal standards.

  • Author or implement all mill certificates, certificates of compliance, certificate of analysis, and internal standards documents.

  • Conduct Round Robin testing and evaluate procedural performance.

  • Create spreadsheets for recordkeeping and data analysis.

  • Work with product development and quality control teams to develop modified internal standards for cement-based products.

  • Perform forensic studies if an issue arises with sample product.

  • Assist with plant visits and line trials.

  • Organize, perform and document concrete laboratory mixes and testing.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a strong emphasis in math and science, Concrete Industry Management, manufacturing engineering or similar related field.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of technical work experience in quality and manufacturing field and testing of cementitious products.

  • Must be familiar with field practices of concrete construction and restoration.

  • Trouble shooting cement product manufacturing issues.

  • Advance skills in MS Office products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Ability to explain methods and data legibly, accurately, and professionally.

  • Demonstrate experience in leadership, problem solving, creativity, strategic thinking, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

  • Excellent skills in collecting and organizing data, project management, technical writing and presentations.

  • Able to work under pressure and availability to work extra hours and on weekends occasionally.
