Position: Data Control Specialist

Position Location: Fort Worth, TX

Position Type: Long-Term Contract to Hire (8-12 months)

Position Description: The Data Control Specialist is responsible for data file import and/or export processing, complex problem resolution, and implementation support. This role facilitates the receipt and file loading processes by conducting data validation procedures and ensuring quality file transmittals meet downstream criteria for data usage by various business process owners and recipients as well as resolving complex file problems prior to those transmittals. The Data Control Specialist also participates in implementation setup.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and resolves complex file issues related to imports/exports data files, as demanded by the business

  • Formats and conducts data file format reviews before files are loaded to various systems. Demonstrates business knowledge of the effect of the data on downstream processes

  • Applies product and process knowledge to support Implementation setup and interfaces with clients/vendors to initiate file transmissions.

  • Establishes and supports processes utilizing multiple tools not limited to MS Access, SQL, and proprietary systems such as RTMI Name & Address and MicETL

  • Demonstrates knowledge of multiple system format requirements, data cleansing tools, parsing tools, business rule requirements for formats, and recognition and resolution of data formatting errors

  • Embraces, facilitates and employs department and corporate data security standards. Communicates best practices for safe file transmissions to credit unions and external data processors

  • Some system maintenance activities related to file processing quality efforts.

  • Able to maintain a balance between high volume processing and high quality deliverables. Needs to meet processing turnover and quality metrics consistently. Supports and facilitates procedure identification and documentation

  • Actively processes routine files for various DAP supported processes. Can provide back up support with other roles within the tea.

Additional Job Details:

  1. Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent trade-off in related professional work experience or degree

  2. 2 years of experience as a Data Control Specialist

  3. Excellent and demonstrable communication skills: oral and written Advanced problem solving skills

  5. Demonstrated ability to work as a team but also independently
