Environmental Scientist – Minneapolis MN
Kelly Scientific Resources is currently seeking candidates for a Environmental Scientist for one of our top clients in Minneapolis, MN. This is a Contract-to-Hire position.
As an Environmental Scientist placed with Kelly Scientific Resources, you will be responsible for Phase I/Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. You will have experience in Property Due Diligence consulting projects focused on commercial real estate and renewable energy market. This position will serve as a core support role in the environmental services group and will interact with project designer, project managers, and may accompany senior staff to client meetings, as applicable.
Strong experience with real estate transactions including environmental due diligence, environmental report reviews, state and federal regulatory programs, Phase II environmental field investigations, and an understanding of real estate lending and finance.
Superior writing skills, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to independently perform environmental tasks on a variety of projects.
Ability to do a mix of technical writing and some fieldwork.
Core duties include drafting proposals and work plans, fieldwork, and report preparation.
Participating in client meetings to support the planning, design, and approval of site improvements for land development projects.
Some travel in and out of state.
Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or earth sciences
3+ years conducting Phase I and Phase II ESA investigations.
Experience in evaluating and collecting soil, groundwater and soil vapor samples, solid working knowledge of the Phase 1 ESA ASTM 1527-13 process.
Excellent writing skills are a must along with the ability to compile reports
Working knowledge of ArcGIS preferred.
Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
Experience with soil remedial action plans or wetland delineations are considered a plus.
Asbestos inspector certification is considered a plus.
