Tech Support Analyst - Workstation Support Tech
Overall Purpose of the Position: Responsible for the installation and configuration of workstation software and hardware for IT users. Learns to identify proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting end user problems.
Responsibilities of Job: Following established policies and procedures, assists in rollout and installation of workstation software and hardware. Performs software updates and handles moves, computer setup and peripherals from site to site. Maintains workstation hardware and software. Replaces hardware that has become faulty and corrects software issues. May order replacement parts and track status/inventory of items. Ensures tools and equipment are licensed and approved by IS purchasing. Complete data backups and restorations for users. Assists customers/users and answers questions regarding their equipment. May perform software testing and evaluation of new software and hardware prior to production.
Minimum Requirements: Education: Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job related field.
2 years of job related work experience.
Skills and Abilities: Strong customer service skills. Able to identify and follow proper documented procedures and scripts used for troubleshooting problems. Able to provide Tier II support to IT users for basic software and hardware of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems.
