Title: QC Specialist (Instrumentation)

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Clayton NC

Positions Available: 2

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support QC Raw Materials laboratory instrument qualification activities.

  • You will work directly with the QC Raw Materials team to qualify laboratory instruments.

  • Instruments include FTIR, Karl Fischer, Autotitrator, Density Meter, GC, UV/Vis, HPLC, Digital Microscope, or other instruments or equipment as the project requires.

  • Experience writing and executing qualification and/or validation protocols and reports is required

  • Experience using electronic (paperless) systems to write and execute protocols is preferred

  • Experience with qualification of laboratory instruments (IQ/OQ/PQ) and USP <1058> is required

  • Demonstrated expertise with FTIR, Karl Fischer, Autotitrator, Density Meter is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of GMPs, ICH guidelines and Pharmacopeia (USP/NF and EP) methods is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to present technical information to others is preferred

  • Ability to work around and/or with hazardous materials and chemicals generally found in a laboratory environment is required

  • Familiarity with lab practices/techniques (pipetting, weighing, preparation of samples, solutions and reagents) is preferred

  • Ability to work extended or off-shift hours to support laboratory operations (if required) is preferred


  • 5+ years in a GMP environment or the pharmaceutical industry

  • 5+ years of qualification/validation experience

  • Experience managing fast-paced projects

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written

Education / Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or a relevant combination of education and experience.
