Kelly Services Finishing Manager (Direct Hire!) in Chanhassen, Minnesota
SUMMARY/SCOPE: The finishing area produces WIP and Finished goods from printed and raw materials. Operations
include sewing, grommeting, stretched canvas, display assemblies, and many other similar products. A subset workgroup
that reports through the Finishing area is Cut Vinyl.
Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day operations/workflow.
Build and maintain a responsive team, able to support a dynamic, often demanding, workload.
Maintain scheduling commitments and manage day-to-day activities to ensure that commitments are achieved.
o This is done by reviewing metrics and review schedules upstream and downstream to ensure you are
setting those departments of for success.
- Facilitates a positive teamwork-based atmosphere with high expectations for safety, quality, productivity and waste
- Update production schedule. Timely communication of status and timing issues. Forecast needs within the finishing
Address machine, equipment, and material or supply problems
Schedule preventative maintiaince and repairs. Contacting service resources to get machines back in operation.
Manage inventory on a weekly basis and ensure product is ready for jobs coming into the shop
Support Estimating, Planning, Sales, PM-s, Prepress, and Finishing staff on job setup questions.
Ensure employees are adequately trained on machine operation, workflow, and safety.
Monitor and evaluate Operator performance regularly. Conduct one-on-ones employee discussions.
Assist with decisions on tools/consumables orders - vendors, quantities.
o Regulary research new equipment and present ROIs on that equipment that you recommended.
Discover/suggest/implement new opportunities for improvement & efficiency.
Monitor process/quality of department ouput. Take corrective actions when necessary.
Timely completion of administrative/managerial tasks (Time and Material transaction approvals, Temp Labor Invoice
review/approval, PTO approvals)
Review and give feedback on estimate vs planned vs actuals.
Architech and improve continuously.
Manage 2, 12-hour shifts (six pm to six am) across six days a week, with on call on the seventh day.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:
Incumbent must be able to:
- Hear, speak and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written
instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
- Move around the plant and office areas repeatedly throughout the day.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Incumbent must be able to use computers, basic hand tools, Sewing & Finishing equipment.
The work environment is indoors. Warehouse.
