Chemical Engineer (QA) - Entry Level - Buckeye, AZ

Kelly Scientific Resources, a division of Kelly Services, has an exciting opportunity for an entry level Chemical Engineer (QA) to work with one of our top clients in Buckeye, AZ, that focuses on manufacturing of natural ingredients


Responsible for overall quality and quantity of company products produced in response to customer and production orders. Responsible for maintaining all company production equipment and maintenance of all measuring devices affecting the quality of products. Monitors inventory levels of all raw materials and packaging goods.


  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all processing and material handling equipment.

  • Continuously monitor raw material and final product quality and quantity, calling to the attention of supervisor any quality or quantity variance from standard.

  • Train and oversee all operations personnel.

  • Monitor inventories of spare parts, equipment, processing aids, raw materials and other ingredients and recommend purchases, replacements or repairs as required to maintain uninterrupted manufacturing activities.

  • Maintain manufacturing area in a neat and orderly status.

  • Inspect physical condition of manufacturing equipment. Prepares and submits requisitions for the repair or replacement of equipment.

  • Through consultation with the Plant Operations Superintendent, or designee, establish production schedules for all products.

  • Use computer to update records and prepare paperwork as necessary.

  • Prevent shipment of any nonconforming product. Bring any product nonconformance to the attention of Plant Operations Superintendent and/or Plant Manager.

  • Communicate with Plant Operations Superintendent and Plant Manager to ensure coordination of manufacturing activities with activities of other functional areas such as warehouse, sales, records control and purchasing.

  • Review and recommend updates to manufacturing and related documents.

  • Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of manufacturing.

  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities in accordance with safety plan.

  • Utilize proper personal protection equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and safety-toe boots.

  • Maintain safe work environment in accordance with organization’s safety plan, SOP document.

  • Maintain a hygienic work environment in accordance with organization’s personal hygiene plan, SOP document PH.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

  • 1-2 years of industry experience

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and write technical procedures and governmental regulations

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
