Kelly Services is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for one of the world's largest stock exchanges located in Atlanta, GA.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Atlanta, GA
Length: 5/21/18 – 10/31/18
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Pay Rate: $35 - $45 per hour
Career Path Description:
Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Responsibilities are within the Accounting Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.
Researches and analyzes account fluctuations.
Reviews, prepares and inputs accrual, standard, recurring, re-classification and other journal entries.
Reviews and responds to all escalated customer inquiries and inputs and posts re-classification and other needed entries, specifically related to Billing and Deferred Revenue treatment.
Responds to internal and external audit requests.
Closes the books for legal entities within the company
Analyzes complex data and reviews processes to make enhancements or improve performance.
Remains current about and implementing accounting principles and trends.
Updates/maintains accounting policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 8 to 10 years
Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline.
Understands how related disciplines impact own work/own team.
Readily applies functional knowledge to challenges in our industry/markets.
Including international business and accounting.
Has good or in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others and chooses to work across these boundaries to further the greater agenda
Is looking always to gain efficiencies and implements these within own team/discipline.

Technical Skills & Requirements:
Accounting: Prepares standard financial reports and records/journal entries and recommends accounting treatment of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Matches assets and liabilities under complex scenarios to understand the organization's financial positioning.
Assesses, interprets and implements new accounting pronouncements/ requirements while quantifying the impact on the organization.
Applies NASDAQ OMXs financial and management accounting policies, procedures and systems.
Maintains current knowledge of the accounting principles for one or more disciplines (e.g., GAAP, Cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, REVENUE RECOGNITION STANDARDS).
Analyzes and applies regulatory requirements and financial accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, FASB, SEC) to complex or non-routine scenarios.
Demonstrates advanced working knowledge of Microsoft and other supported applications such as Great Plains Dynamics and SalesForce, applying templates and standards to produce elements and incorporate them into presentations.
Documenting/Recording Information: Demonstrates proper technique for entering, transcribing, recording, storing, and maintaining complex or nuanced information in written or electronic form.
Knowledge of Financial Systems:
Demonstrates complete comprehension of the uses and applications of the organization's financial systems, databases and management reporting systems, providing oversight as needed.
Understands the pros and cons of using different systems and determines which systems are appropriate for conducting various analyses.
Audits information output and confirms the accuracy of data and analytics.
