Kelly Services is currently seeking Accountants for one of the world's largest stock exchanges located in Atlanta, GA.
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Atlanta, GA
Length: 5/21/18 – 10/31/18
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Pay Rate: $30 - $40 per hour
Career Path Description:
Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Responsibilities are within the Accounting Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.
Prepares basic, routine journal entries.
Prepares basic, routine account reconciliations,
Researches and gathers information for financial statements.
Shadows more experienced team members when preparing financial reports.
Supports monthly close procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 0 to 2 years
Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a discipline.
Requires guidance on task initially and requires supervision.
Is working in a smaller defined area of the role, this continues to expand as the employee gains more confidence and capability.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
Often needs help understanding the commercial side or key business drivers impacting the task/decision.
No supervisory responsibilities; accountable for developing technical contribution.
Problem solving: Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments.
- Has limited impact on own work team; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines as described by supervisor.
- Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Technical Skills & Requirements:
Accounting: Studies the preparation of financial reports and assists with records/journal entries, learning the options for accounting treatment of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Learns how matching assets and liabilities relates to the organizations financial positioning.
Seeks to understand and assists with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements/ requirements.
Accounting Principles: Learns about Company OMXs financial and management accounting policies, procedures and systems.
Develops basic knowledge of the accounting principles for one discipline (e.g., GAAP, Cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing).
Develops basic understanding of regulatory requirements and financial accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, FASB, SEC).
Learns to use Microsoft and other supported applications – such as Great Plains Dynamics and SalesForce.
Documenting/Recording Information: Learns to enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written or electronic form according to Company standards.
Knowledge of Financial Systems:
Acquires basic knowledge of systems and databases through completing routine responsibilities.
Completes routine activities by using financial systems and technologies.
Completes basic quality review checks on data.
