Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Our client, one of North Americas leading producers of minerals has a full time Permanent opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to work at their facility in Amherst, N. S.

This position offers many challenging opportunities for learning and development as well as an excellent compensation package, a full range of group benefits and a non-contributory pension plan with profit sharing opportunity. The successful candidate must hold a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic’s License.


  • Grade 12 certificate

  • Must hold a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic’s License with the Nova Scotia Dept. of Labour and Advanced Education.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in a process-related industry

  • Knowledge about process equipment including, but not limited to, compressors, pumps, material handling equipment and mobile equipment.

  • Flexible for various task assignments

  • Project management, job planning and supervisory skills would be considered assets.

  • Able to work a Monday – Friday 8-hour day shift.

  • Must be flexible to be on-call and work longer days during shut down every 8 weeks.

  • Exceptional safety record

  • Adapt rapidly to change and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Will consider applicants registered in the industrial mechanic apprenticeship program or from other relevant trades (heavy duty mechanic, machinist, welder, instrumentation and control technician) may be considered.
