Kelly Scientific is currently seeking a Quality Manager for one of our top clients in the Cincinnati area. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
Responsible for the daily operation and performance of the Taste Quality Lab activities related to the effective and efficient assessment and disposition all incoming raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
Reviews, maintains, and oversees implementation of the Safety Plan and supporting Prerequisite Programs
Responsible for management of the Customer Complaint system, acting as the main contact point for quality and food safety discussions with customers.
Coordinate, prepare for, and conduct customer audits of quality and food safety
Liaises with R&D technical resources to identify and solve problems related to the quality of samples, process improvement, production deviations, etc.
Ensures all Quality Lab procedures related to the testing for quality parameters of all incoming raw materials, intermediates and finished products are correct
Directs production in resolution of quality related issues and monitors production activities to identify quality-related process improvements.
Responsible for finished product release program which ensures all products meet customer specifications and are in compliance with local and global standards
Responsible for coordination of internal sampling activities and samples requests by customers
Implement Internal Audit Program to analyze processes and lead the continuous improvement program of the current SQF certification
Implementation and management of cGMP and GLP programs to support production of flavors and ingredients to the pharmaceutical industry.
Investigate and resolve supplier complaints with Purchasing Department and directly with the supplier as needed
Manage non-conformance control, material review, rework disposition, and corrective and preventive measures
Ensures the efficient and effective disposition of materials as part of the product return process
Responsible for product quality and food safety subjects in the training program in all areas and functions
Responsible for managing document control and record keeping
Manage product quality and food safety information sent directly to the customers
Maintains QC databases with appropriate information and is responsible for accuracy of the information
Ensure subordinate staff is motivated to improve the efficiency of their current duties and have clearly identified goals as well as understanding what they must accomplish to advance within the company
Enforce company personnel, operational and safety policies and procedures as they relate to all employees.
BA/BS, MS Degree, Chemical, Science or Food Technology
Minimum of 5 years combined experience in direct management of a Quality program within the chemical, flavor, food and/or food ingredient industries.
Demonstrable ability to lead implementation and management of product quality and food safety programs.
Direct experience in the successful implementation and/or management of cGMP, HACCP, PRP’s, and related programs in flavor, food or food ingredient companies.
Familiarity with the requirements Global Food Safety Initiative e.g. Safe Quality Food certification.
Familiarity with the requirements of FSMA, cGMP, HACCP, GMP Prerequisite Programs
Familiarity with QC requirements of certifications (Kosher, Halal, Organic, etc.) Able to lead implementation and processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Have a thorough understanding of Global and US Food Regulations
Effective communication and presentation skills with ALL levels of the organization + external customers.
Direct experience in training ALL levels of the organization in Quality and food safety programs and their requirements.
Experience managing the Quality function within an integrated ERP operating environment.
