Supervise the day-to-day manufacturing, sanitation and line activities of a canning line to meet regulatory and company requirements of a RTD coffee line, while adhering to overall schedules and budgets. Also, act as the main contact to identify manufacturing process problems and recommend improvement for optimum productivity on the canning line. This person will directly be involved in operating the retort and maintaining the records for each batch produced. They will also have oversight of the line. Work/Industry Experience College degree a plus; 2 year Associates acceptable Thorough knowledge in all applicable government regulations, corporate environmental and safety procedures Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner Good technical writing skill and math skills a must Skilled in Microsoft Office to level of creating professional quality documents Desired Work/Industry Experience Good technical writing skill and math skills a must Skilled in Microsoft Office to level of creating professional quality documents Prioritizing and executing daily work assignments Fabrication Processes Some familiarity with HACCP a plus Knowledge/ability to learn retort and canning systems also a plus Education degree and/or coursework /Certification 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment 1-2 years canning, beverage or dairy experience a must Better Process School Certificate a must College degree a plus; 2 year Associates acceptable Education degree and/or coursework /Certification Skills Duties /Software Maintain canning line day-to-day production, monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules. Ensure operation of all equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques, making sure that preventative maintenance and lubrication are performed. Supervise production and staff and give technical direction. Detailed production schedule planning, building and execution of production schedules Develop quality control objectives and activities to resolve production and problems, maximize product reliability, minimize cost, and make sure that the processed/unprocessed sides of the canning room are maintained and tightly controlled Coordinate and enforce Safety Policies and procedures Work with management and customers to develop new standards for manufacturing/retort processes Maintain effective labor relations communicate any potential issues to management and/or HR. Ensure employees have proper tools, information, PPE and materials to perform their work assignments. Communicate issues to management as necessary. Hire, train and review performance of staff, including documented training for canning line personnel. Document all DPR/Batch/fill weight and seam and MSS activities and quality checks Maintain employee GMP standards Must verify daily records and maintain acceptable records according to 21 CFR 114. Work with CDPH on records required for releases Pass license exam for CDPH retort operator certificate Skills Duties /Software .While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
