Job Description

Kelly Services is currently seeking for a PRODUCTION OPERATOR for a prominent client in NEWTOWN, PA.

Hours: 3:30 pm - 12:00am, Monday - Friday

Location: Newtown, PA

Under the guidance of a mentor, you-ll be asked to safely set up and operate of all manual machines such as lathes, mills, gear shapers, grinders, drill press, and saws, as well as safely setup, prove-out, and operate CNC lathes, and/or milling machines, grinders, and gear shapers.

Some of the day to day things you-ll do in this position include:

  • Ensure accuracy, revision level and validity of paperwork, documentation and inspection tools prior to starting a job.

  • Perform part inspections as necessary to ensure quality of work and continually monitor parts production to ensure adherence to blueprint tolerances using appropriate inspection tools and criteria.

  • Remove all burrs after machining operations to meet required print specifications.

  • Maintain correct daily labor time recording and accurate entries on applicable manufacturing documentation.

  • Operate multiple pieces of equipment concurrently when cycle time permits.

  • Maintain all safety, quality and productivity standards.

In order to be considered for this position, you will need:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience of setting up and operating the following manual machines: Engine lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, gear shapers, honing machine, drill press, ID grinder, surface grinders, tool grinders, band saws, and welding equipment.

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), metal cutting principles, tooling, and thread nomenclature is REQUIRED.

  • Possess a working knowledge and the ability to apply the concepts of Lean Manufacturing to achieve continuous production improvements.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

  • The ability to speak, write, and read English and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, method sheets, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Basic computer skills

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is REQUIRED.
