Kelly Services Test Assembly Technician in Milpitas, California

Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Skills/Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people. A proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Mission

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong technical background in electromechanical assembly and repair. The person will be able to organize the raw materials and components for builds, build internal test equipment efficiently and correctly the first time, and install drivers, operating systems and test software to test and release the equipment to the end user. Must be able to program and test PCB assemblies and build various cabling, test fixtures, etc. to support engineering requirements.

Outcome

  1. Build, set-up, test and release internal test equipment to meet the requirements and schedule of Production and engineering worldwide.

  2. Program, test and repair tester PCB assemblies and support hardware engineers with prototype bring-up.

  3. Support engineering hardware requirements.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have knowledge of PC and server PC components, assembly, installation and repair.

  • Familiar with Windows operating systems and drivers. Linux knowledge a plus.

  • Strong mechanical assembly background. Knows how to use basic hand and power tools as well as basic soldering skills.

  • Can assemble custom cabling and mechanical fixtures if needed.

  • Able to lift 30 lbs. and be able to move heavy test equipment with assistance.
