Senior Product Development Engineer Erlanger, KY

Kelly Services is currently seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer for one of our top clients in Erlanger, KY. As a Senior Product Development Engineer placed with Kelly Services, you will be in a high profile position responsible for leading company product development efforts to meet design requirements, schedule, and production readiness. This position will work as a key member of the management team to develop the strategic vision that define the direction of new product development activity.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the communication link between Operations, Sales, and Marketing for new products.

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for meeting product development requirements, fulfilling product definition, meeting product and project cost goals, quality objectives, and time-to-market objectives. Lead the delivery of new products for the company.

  • Facilitate the timely investigation, development and release of new products, assuring these development projects deliver products with high quality and within budget.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of projects that lead to product conception, definition, design, and release.

  • Develop, and ultimately implement strategic activities to improve the new product development process.

  • Maintain existing products through allocating design and engineering time when needed to meet customer expectations. Coordinate these efforts with sales, supply chain and engineering.

  • Responsible either directly, or indirectly through delegation, for all project management requirements for each NPD project. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Facilitate meetings effectively

  • Maintain the technical service request list of priorities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project schedules and budgets

  • Coordinate design review meetings

  • Compile, record, and distribute required status reports, test results and other required documentation

  • Maintain development related documentation

  • Maintain the project history file

  • Perform design reviews with key functional groups

  • Develop and foster contacts with customers, technical experts, dealers, sales people, and regulatory agencies.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Number of new products released.

  • Revenue and EBITDA contribution for new products.

  • Improved development cycle of new and enhanced products.

  • Improved the Technical Service Request process and lead the regular review meeting.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Engineering or related field.

  • Solid network and reputation in the cargo control business.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred
