Controls/ Wiring Technician (Eastlake, Ohio)

Our client, a recognized leader in providing engineered control systems and software solutions for the glass, metal, rubber, paper, OEM and other industries, is currently hiring Controls / Wiring Technician. This position is a second shift role and is Contract to Direct.

Client is a growing company headquartered in an attractive and convenient suburb of Cleveland with offices located in the Atlanta area. Technician will work directly with team managers, hardware and project engineers to interpret data from electrical and mechanical diagrams and schematics, and build electrical components and cable assemblies. They will provide technical support in the building, installation, and maintenance of the customer equipment. The technician will also be responsible for the layout, machining, and wiring of electric control equipment enclosures, as well as, the assembly or fabrication of any associated components such as cables, brackets, junction boxes, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical panel/enclosure, build and fabrication

Solder cables and bulkheads

Machine enclosures/back plates using hand/power tools

Print labels and mark tubes correctly, as well as, label components

Interpret data from electrical and mechanical diagrams and schematics

Drill & mount electrical components including circuit breakers, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, VFD’s, input/output devices, and/or all other related industrial control devices

Perform wiring of electrical components and cable assemblies

Assembly, testing, repair and/or calibration of electronic products or equipment

Testing and troubleshooting equipment and products, both production and repair as necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of professional electrical panel building experience

Strong mechanical aptitude and wiring fundamentals

Must be familiar with wire color, ratings, and routing

Understanding of NEC & NFPA79 codes

Experience using electronic test equipment as well as hand and power tools required; soldering preferred but not required

Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working as electronics technician in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of analog and digital circuits

Knowledge of DC and AC drives and drive systems

Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
