Job Description

Currently hiring a Distribution Center Material Handler for a Medical Supplies company in Crystal Lake, IL. This position is on days and has OT available as well! Below are some details of the position.

Forklift, power pallet jack, inbound and outbound loading of material to include processing small packages. Knowledge of UPS shipping is a plus!

Pay: $12/hr

Hours are Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm with possible overtime that will include weekends.

This position is a minimum of 3 months or more depending on business and performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions immediately.

  2. Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.

  3. Understanding of all documentation as it pertains to MH functions: Shop Orders, Material

Information Sheets, Scrap Collection Data Records, RM162 Bale Weights, etc..

  1. Proficient in use of Barcode Gun scanning and accurate inventory transaction tracking.

  2. Collection and data entry of scrap off the Production floor.

  3. Understanding of Grinding system and requirements.

  4. Capable to operate Machinery not limited to Forklift, Hand jacks, Clampers & Bailer.

  5. Efficiently support Recycler room by delivering required raw materials.

  6. Ability to support Production with job specific materials as required.

  7. Capable of loading/unloading material to hoppers & connect/disconnect material lines.

  8. Load/Unload items from trailers on Receiving Dock.

  9. Constant Teamwork & Respectful Communication with teammates and Leadership.

  10. Understanding of cycle counts in regards to accurate inventory

  11. Work independently from verbal and/or written instruction from Supervisor/Lead.

  12. Communicate with off going Material Handler for open issues/information.

  13. Able to perform a variety of roles in department with daily job function to be determined

by Lead/Supervisor.

  1. Completion of all training, compliance wire & instructor led courses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: One year minimum warehouse or materials handling.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Basic math skills.

Basic computer skills.

Basic reading and writing

Read and understand the Bill of Materials.

Able to identify different colors.

Capable of forklift, hand pallet truck and hand cart operations.

Attend training classes to become a licensed forklift driver.

Ability to troubleshoot equipment such as grinders, hoppers, and color feeders.

Skills/Competencies:

Other Skills: Ability to lift items ranging from 5-65 pounds from floor to overhead, independently, frequently to constantly.

Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours a shift, if necessary.

Ability to climb up and down ladders carrying material to hoppers and color feeders (weight from 5 - 65 pounds).

Ability to push and pull items ranging from 5-500 pounds with equipment assistance.
