Design Engineer - Co-op to direct hire!
This position will be responsible for effectively designing, developing, and coordinating the application of current and new OEM forklift components with other departments, Customers, and suppliers. Seeking both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering candidates due to graduate 2018/2019.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES: Use of CAD/FEA and other software as engineering tools in the layout, modeling and documentation to develop designs that are cost efficient, manufacturable and reliable. Prepare and analyze technical data and documentation. Mentor/train and support others as needed. Maintain drawings, engineering change instructions, and specification changes. Convey engineering information to related departments and act as a liaison with other areas, suppliers, and customers to solve problems. Participate in company and departmental Hoshin and Kaizen activities. Analyze and countermeasure problems as they arise. Conduct testing to prove out designs or improve the reliability of components. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education: Students pursuing a BA in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience/Skills/Special Requirements: CAD Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively express ideas. Ability to complete independent tasks or tasks within a team. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Innovative thinker able to envision new and better ways to do things. Excellent analytic skills, ability to plan, organize and implement multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to use small hand tools, diagnose and resolve design problems once installed on final product.
