Biologist I—Cambridge, MA

18 month contract

Pay Rate: $22-$25/hr

Job Description :

  • Work as part of a project team to generate high-quality data in support of identifying lead compounds and advancing toward development of potential candidates for medicines.

  • Will summarize data and provide updates to supervisor and project teams.

  • In addition, will contribute to the development of new processes and assay methodologies that will improve the productivity and scientific impact of the working group

Technical Skills :

  • Enzyme, receptor-binding and functional cell assays (whole-cell and cell-free)

  • Cell biology, second/third messengers, transduction pathways

  • Computational biology, pathway mining, new target identification, biomarker identification

  • Molecular biology (site directed mutagenesis, SiRNA, antisense, stable transfection)

  • Tissue and cell culture

  • Quantitative histological analysis

  • Automated and workstation screening equipment (liquid handling systems, plate readers and automated data analysis)

  • Bacterial genetics o Electrophysiological methodologies (patch clamp, slice, etc) •

Requirements :

  • 0-3 years of experience

  • BS degree in biology or related field

  • Good communication, organizational, record keeping and computer literacy skills

  • Team oriented with a flexible approach to goal delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Years of Experience 0-3.

  • Preferred experience in, Cell-based signaling assays, Radioligand binding assays, Gene expression, GPCR pharmacology
