Kelly Services Laboratory Assistant in Bothell, Washington

Kelly Scientific Resources is currently recruiting for a temporary Lab Assistant at a Biotech company in Bothell, WA. This is a full time, three month contract. The lab assistant will be responsible for dish washing and performing general lab duties to support activities R&D and production laboratories.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily pickups of utilized glassware from labs, wash, sterilize, and redistribute to clean storage areas.

  • Sorts and dispenses glassware to appropriate stations for cleansing.

  • Operates, loads, and unloads industrial washing machines and autoclaves.

  • Inspects glassware to ensure pieces are clean and undamaged returning them in an uncontaminated condition to their respective labs.

  • Refilling of disposables (gloves, tubes, pipettes etc.) at work stations.

  • Maintain good house-keeping include cleaning of lab benches, balances and other equipment’s.

  • Mopping and cleaning area not accessible by janitors.

  • Removing boxes to a recycle.

  • Check eyewash/ shower stations on regular interval.

  • Maintain required supplies for glassware washing and sterilization operations.

  • Maintenance of the lunchroom, cleaning, dishwashing and restocking.

  • Ability to follow SOP and record activities per procedure.

  • Maintains appropriate records and/or documentation necessary for compliance with current regulatory guidelines.

  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  • Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education or Experience (in years):

  • Basic chemistry at High School level (prefer college level General Chemistry or higher).

  • Familiarity with working in a laboratory setting with glassware washers, and autoclaves.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Knowledge of laboratory environment.

  • General safety skill, with emphasis in chemical safety.

  • Ability to learn new skill or tasks quickly.

  • Knowledge of good documentation cGMP is preferred but not required.

Physical requirements/abilities: Must be able to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 30 lbs.
